Carrickfergus Junior Gateway

It’s been a busy year with regards to our relationship with Mencap, the national charity for people with learning disability. Our leader in charge Jackie Pollock has been a member of Carrickfergus Mencap for several years now and became chairperson in May 2011- strengthening our local bond in the community.

Our relationship with Mencap was deepened further in December 2011 when Jackie joined the Mencap Northern Ireland Committee as a co-opted member.

We look forward to the awareness of Gateway clubs and young people that Jackie will bring to the committee as well as Carrick Junior Gateway benefiting from the knowledge and expertise of the NI Committee.

We our holding our first ever open session on Saturday 27th February between 10:30 and 11:30 to give you the opportunity to bring your family down to our club and see what Gateway has to offer. We look forward to meeting you and showing you around.

Last night we had a great turnout at our pub quiz which was kindly hosted by Carrickfergus Sailing Club and raised the incredible sum of £430. We would like to thank everyone who took part and to all the local businesses in Carrick who donated prizes to our ballot.
