See my ability, not my disability

Gateway exists for children with learning disabilities aged between seven and eighteen within the Carrickfergus area. While we are a relatively small club with around twenty members at any time we believe that this means that we can focus on our member’s individuality, catering the club activities to suit their needs.

There are many learning disabilities reflected in our membership. Some examples would be ADHD, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and Down’s Syndrome. Regardless of the condition however we see the person not just the disability. This has lead to our motto “See my ability, not my disability”.
